Summary of Job Duties:Supervised by Milk Bank Pasteurization Supervisor and/or the Milk Bank Program Director, the Milk Bank Pasteurization technicians are responsible for all essential tasks for handling and processing human milk through the milk bank laboratory. The individuals fulfilling this role maintain lab equipment, cleaning all areas, storage and distribution zones, and maintain needed operational inventory. The individuals in this role process the human milk according to Milk Bank Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which abide by FDA and HMBANA guidelines, as well as maintain records for maintenance of equipment, cleaning schedules, all bacterial testing and macronutrient analysis of the human milk. This role should be food handler certified and receive training to support milk processing techniques.

In-house training is required on scheduled basis per Milk Bank guidelines. 
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma

One (1) Year Hospital or Healthcare Laboratory technician

Food Safety Handler Certification within four (4) weeks of hire

Formula/Human Milk Technician Certificate within one (1) year of hire.

Food safety certification at hospital orientation.

Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.

Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

May perform other duties as assigned.
