Rite-Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-level or Senior Software Developer on-site at NUWCDIVNPT in Newport, RI. We are looking for a talented, motivated and team-oriented C++\/Java Software Developer with five (5) or more years of experience to support numerous programs across various customers. Our team of developers works together to develop, sustain, and maintain code across the full stack. Leveraging state of the art technologies, our team redefines business information and tactical systems of the future. \n
Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nPartner with team to understand, create, and modify applications using programming languages such as C++ (Linux) and Java, deployment technologies such as Kickstart, Containers and Virtual Machines, and scripting languages such as Bash, tcsh, and Python. \nDesign, develop, evaluate, and test system\/software integration\nInterpret, assess, and support maintenance of requirements and develop software designs\nAbility to design and implement within a team environment with minimal direction\nCommunicate regularly with functional team leads to ensure effective work partnerships\nThe opportunity exists to grow into an architectural and\/or technical lead\n\n
Requirements\n\nMinimum 5 years of Software Development experience\n\nBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field\nExperience with C\/C++ (Linux), Java, and scripting languages (bash, tcsh\/csh)\nSolid command of object-oriented software development\nExperience with development in Linux-based environments\nExperience with Git version control\n\n\nStrong problem solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities \nWorking knowledge of basic networking and network protocols \nFamiliar with agile and\/or traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approaches\nEffective written and verbal skills\nAble to work and thrive in both individual and team-based development environments\nPosition requires Active Department of Defense security clearance \n\n
Additional Skills of Interest (not required): \n\nExperience developing containerized applications with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes\nApplication performance optimization across all tiers\nLinux system administration as part of software development\nExperience presenting to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership\n\n
