Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ (BCA) Customer Support Organization is seeking a Mid-LevelFleet Monitoring Engineer to support the 787 Operations Control Center (OCC), located in Everett, WA.

Using Airplane Health Management (AHM) and other tools, the Fleet Monitoring team monitors the health of in-service airplanes in real time and looks for opportunities to proactively reach out to operators with recommendations to mitigate schedule interruptions. Individuals analyze EICAS, CMC, maintenance page snapshot and ACMS data transmitted via ACARS to develop recommended maintenance actions and evaluate possible deferral per Minimum Equipment List (MEL) if recommended actions cannot be accomplished quickly.

The successful candidate must be willing to work 12-hour days during an 80 hour pay period, non-standard rotating work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays. The OCC operates 7x24x365 and individual schedules are typically 7 consecutive 12-hour days followed by 7 days off. Employees are currently expected to work on-site 5 of their 7 days. Individuals are occasionally asked to travel to an operator site to evaluate an operator’s use of AHM and share industry best practices.

Position Responsibilities:                                                     

Monitor the health of in-service airplanes via AHM and other toolsAnalyze transmitted data to understand the nature of a reported fault or a negatively trending parameterProvide recommendations based on published procedures (FIM, AMM, etc) when a fault with high probability of causing delay or cancellation is reportedWork with other members of the OCC and other Customer Support or Design Engineering groups to identify, characterize and report emerging aircraft technical issuesWillingness to learn all facets of fleet monitoring and provide backup support as neededContribute to developing data analysis tools and methodologiesInform and educate team members across shifts about updates to our documentation and procedures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.3+ years’ experience working with 787 maintenance data such as FIM, AMM, Fleet Team Digest, Service Letters, Service Bulletins, IPD, schematics, wire diagrams2+ years’ experience using Airplane Health Management (AHM)Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and resolving 787 airplane systems issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining 787 airplanesExperience working in or with airline maintenance and operations organizationsFamiliarity with operator use of Minimum Equipment List (MEL)Familiarity with Electronic Check List (ECL) or Quick Reference Handbook (QRH)Familiarity with the use of data analytics tools within Excel, Tableau, Alteryx and DataIKUFamiliarity with databases and the use of SQLFamiliarity with Python, .NET and/or R

Summary pay range Mid-Level $104,550 - $141,450
