Microbiology Technician (12 month contract)

Be a part of a culture that doesn't just wait for change but actively creates itwhere your skills and values drive our collective progress and impact. **Job Summary** + Perform microbiological analyzes of raw materials, finished products and stabilities in compliance with HSE rules and compliance with GMP, GLP and other guides and standards in force. + Take samples, environmental control, preparation and analysis of culture media, identification of microorganisms, equipment calibrations and validations, as well as ensure the proper functioning of equipment in compliance with HSE rules and compliance with GMP, GLP and other guides and standards in force. **Main functions** + Prepare culture media and appropriate controls + Perform microbiological analyzes including microbial assay according to the methods in force + Perform the plant's environmental control program, including purified water and compressed air + Take samples and analyzes during the production validation process and during the validation of the equipment cleaning process + Take care of various special projects according to demand + Ensure the availability of the equipment necessary for the laboratory to perform its tasks + Take care of the preparation, freezing and management of reference strains in the microbiology laboratory + Work in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and occupational health and safety requirements + Make sure to keep your workstation clean in accordance with GLP and HSE requirements + Complete and diligently review the documentation of analyzes carried out according to the standards and procedures in force (LIMS, investigations) + Participate in the analytical transfer of known and officially approved methods of analysis + Participate in the various projects of the Microbiology laboratory + Investigations and re-analyzes following the obtaining of atypical, OOS or OOT results + Qualification and calibration of laboratory instruments + Analysis of validation samples of manufacturing processes and project-related stabilities + Participate in various special projects according to the needs of the department + Participate in the drafting of procedures and / or operating manual, as needed + Is responsible for maintaining his technical qualifications and his knowledge of the methods and procedures in force. **Management responsibility** Performs laboratory analyzes related to the various products.There is no supervisory responsibility for this position. **Resources (means) (budget, investments)** No budget to manage. The expenses to be incurred are the responsibility of the department head. **Main professional relations (internal / external)** Internal partners: The analytical department, the quality control and the purchasing department, in the coordination of their work activities, External partners: Laboratory analysis service providers **Knowledge and skills required:** **a) Required training** Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Chemistry-Biology or Biotechnology, or Chemistry with relevant experience or Baccalaureate in Microbiology **b) Languages** French and English **c) Special experience and knowledge** 3 to 5 years of experience in microbiology analysis laboratories Experience in pharmaceutical analysis laboratory Knowledge of Canadian and international GMP / GLP standards.
