Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Lab Technician to join our fast-paced laboratory environment. This role involves assisting in the production of lab media, disposing of samples, organizing glassware, and maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the lab. You will play a crucial role in counting probiotics and eventually participate in various lab testing aspects, providing a unique career opportunity in collaboration with the micro team.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in production and preparation of lab media.Dispose of samples and manage lab glassware.Maintain lab cleanliness and manage stock levels.Assist in counting probiotics on petri dishes.Participate in different aspects of lab testing and assays.Perform routine analysis in the lab.Test for pathogens such as E.coli, Salmonella, and Listeria.Conduct plating for yeast, mold, and total plate count.Essential SkillsProficiency in aseptic techniques.Experience with pipetting and using various pipettes, including multi-channel electronic pipettes.Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Minimum of 6 months lab-related experience.Experience in food microbiology and manufacturing environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or Associate's degree in the sciences.At least 1 year of experience in a food service position.Strong multitasking skills and high attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced and routine/repetitive environment.Familiarity with media preparation and plating.Work Environment

The work is conducted in a lab setting focused on testing dietary microbiology and probiotics. The team operates in a fast-paced, production-like environment to meet client deadlines. The microbiology department consists of approximately 20 employees, working separately from the chemistry lab. The role offers advancement opportunities, with a bonus program tied to performance and tenure. Our team works in a newly established building, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.17 - $20.17/hr.
