Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Microbiology Lab Technician, working in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will perform essential laboratory support functions, focusing primarily on maintaining a clean and organized workspace rather than conducting analyses. ResponsibilitiesStock shelves and manage chemical inventory.Sweep floors and clean workspaces to maintain a safe laboratory environment.Perform pH testing and balance calibration.Register samples for testing orders, including weighing, diluting, and incubating samples to test for pathogens.Autoclave equipment, clean glassware, and ensure an orderly workstation.Provide documentation support as needed.Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and follow safety protocols.Collaborate with a small laboratory team to prioritize tasks and ensure effective sample preparation and aseptic techniques.Maintain precise data and documentation.Communicate effectively and take direction from team members.Essential SkillsBA/BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related degree (non-science degrees will be considered).Completed at least two Microbiology/Biology laboratory courses.Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to learn, verified by references.
This is a 100% laboratory position within a controlled environment to prevent contamination. You will work primarily on your feet, adhering to a dress code that includes wearing a full smock, lab glasses, and lab shoes. The position offers a rotating shift schedule, with workdays from Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday, and shifts starting between 8 am and 11 am. Expect to work 2 to 3 Saturdays every month. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
