Job Description
As a Microbiologist, you will be at the forefront of experimental execution and research leadership. You will design and carry out experiments, ensuring adherence to scientific protocols and methodologies while performing laboratory techniques efficiently. You will be responsible for method development, directing small projects, and overseeing assignments of other staff members. Your role will involve leading scientific research projects from conception to completion, providing scientific guidance, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Design and execute experiments independently or collaboratively, adhering to scientific protocols.Perform accurate and efficient laboratory techniques including sample preparation, data collection, and analysis.Oversee assignments of staff members in technical areas and draft technical reports.Manage and maintain complex equipment or instrumentation.Lead scientific research projects, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.Analyze experimental data using statistical software, interpreting results to draw conclusions.Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications for internal and external audiences.Evaluate data accuracy and completeness, perform peer reviews, and organize data for reports.Develop and improve methods, plan test designs, and coordinate cross-functional project teams.Communicate project status and provide ideas to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and results.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive scientific innovation.Communicate research progress and findings effectively through written and oral presentations.Adhere to quality control measures and standard operating procedures.Participate in quality assurance activities, such as data validation and peer review.Identify opportunities for process improvement and stay updated on new field developments.Essential Skills
Degree in Microbiology with 3+ years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.Proficiency in laboratory techniques, plating, culture, and media preparation.Experience in mass spectrometry and medical lab operations.Strong technical leadership and mastery in protocol troubleshooting and optimization.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's Degree with clinical microbiology experience or Bachelor's Degree with at least 4 years of experience.Evidence of potential for original or collaborative research leading to publication.Experience in task leadership within larger projects and/or Principal Investigator role on smaller projects.Ability to conceive, plan, design, and execute R&D based on advanced theoretical knowledge.Proven track record of communicating project resource needs to meet timelines and budgets.Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
