Job Description
This position involves conducting routine microbiology laboratory testing, recording, and transmitting data to support scientific studies. Responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing media, maintaining frozen cultures, weighing, measuring, and handling chemicals, maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and associated documentation.
ResponsibilitiesCollect, record, and transcribe data, drafting reports as needed with minimal oversight.Assist in integrating new equipment into laboratories.Respond to study demands while managing multiple project-related tasks simultaneously.Identify abnormal and normal study characteristics, suggesting changes as necessary.Learn from personal and others' experiences, evaluating and communicating risk appropriately.Assess potential risks proactively to avoid issues.Participate in planning test protocol development, ensuring protocols are executed as documented.Adapt quickly to changes and master new test methods efficiently.Provide updates and feedback to Study Directors, Project Leaders, and Management as required.Essential SkillsProficiency in microbiology laboratory techniques with 1-2 years of experience in a GMP micro lab.Experience with growth promotion, MIC (Preservative effectiveness, antimicrobial effectiveness), and zone of inhibition.Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of academic or industry experience.Familiarity with GDP, aseptic techniques, GMP, and growth promotion.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of work experience, including at least 1 year of direct experience with microbiology processes preferred.Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.Effective verbal and written communication skills.GMP experience.Work Environment
The role is within a fairly small team of 5-6 people. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, first shift with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm, allowing flexibility in start time. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
