Job overview and responsibilities
This leader is responsible for oversight of occupational health and safety activities across all divisions operating within the United Kingdom (UK). As the primary competent person at United for UK operations, the leader will assist the business with complying with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all other applicable local occupational health and safety requirements by developing UK-specific standards, policies, and guidance as needed for all UK operating divisions in alignment with United’s global safety standards. The individual is responsible for ensuring risk assessments and safety audits of UK operations against applicable regulatory requirements and corporate standards as an individual or as a part of an assigned team. Responsible for analyzing safety performance trends within the UK, supporting the oversight of root cause analysis, and partnering with local station management and suppliers to develop action plans and enforce health and safety compliance. Provides assistance and consultation to UK and US leadership on issues related to occupational health and safety. The leader must have a proven track record for decisive actions backed by strategic planning, continuous improvement, analytical thinking, goal directed leadership and service-oriented performance. This leader will deliver results through leadership, direction, alignment and motivation.
