The Manager, Product Safety and Reliability is responsible for supporting the strategy deployment and tactical management of the Product Safety strategy. Work across functionally within the Access Segment to drive the product safety process, support litigation and inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance. Our goal is to ensure that the company’s products are safe for use.

YOUR IMPACT

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead and support field inspections involving company products in coordination with Legal, Engineering and other stakeholders.

Lead Product Safety team members assigned to the Manager, coordinating their work and supporting team member development and growth activities

Serve as primary liaison between Product Safety and Legal for all Access segment claims, investigations, and litigation support.

Manage litigation related tasks, including research, document review, discovery coordination and responses, deposition preparation and Corporate Representative support, in coordination with Legal.

Represent the company in product liability matters, including deposition and court appearances, site visits, expert coordination and trial attendance, as assigned.

Become proficient in the operation of company products.

Coordinate cross functional support from Engineering and other company departments on product safety and reliability matters, as assigned.

Review new products regarding regulatory and standards compliance in the area of product safety.

Support company activities with respect to regulatory and standards development and compliance.

Interact with customers and end users regarding machine application, safe use, repairs, technical specifications, etc., as assigned.

Up to 50% travel, often on short notice given the nature of incident investigations and inspections.

Collect, analyze, and present applicable data to help drive decision making as directed.

Generate performance metrics and reports as needed.

Support development and periodic review of product safety policies and standard work.

Monitor and promote product safety culture. As well as be knowledgeable and advise company regarding industry safety standards, rules, and regulations.

Identify and help drive continual process improvement.

Coordinate appropriate corrective action related to product performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

5 or more years of relevant experience

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS 

Ability to lead people and be effective in a complex matrix organization.

Creative and innovative thinker; demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, and sustain change

Strong date-driven decision-making skills

Project Management skills and experience

Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, especially communications skills (oral and written) demonstrated ability to influence the behavior of peers and others outside the direct reporting line

Self-motivated with critical adherence to schedule and attention to detail

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as necessary

Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence

Pay Range:

$102,800.00 - $176,800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
