Manager Planning Projects

Bell is seeking a Manager of Planning Projects for the Amarillo Assembly Operations Team. The Manager of Planning Projects will lead a diverse, team of individuals responsible for executing process planning instructions and build sequences for a variety of aerospace products, accurate BOM consumption from subassembly level components through final assembly, flight test operations and delivery, and manufacturing process improvements and tooling solutions for sustainment efforts in a production environment.

What you’ll be doing as a Manager Planning Projects

Ensure manufacturing engineering compliance with design requirements, including customer specifications, military and industry standards and Bell policies and procedures.Establish metrics to evaluate team performance, adjust staffing plans and to identify both potential systemic challenges and improvements.Manage multiple projects through a disciplined approach to initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process in the Amarillo facility and with suppliers to reduce recurring defects. Lead and support CI projects and initiatives while recommending solutions to site leaders that will result in cost reductions, quality improvements and reducing safety and environmental impact.Support safety and quality issues associated with activities, conditions, procedures, processes, facilities, equipment, etc. as they relate to design, certification, production, quality, continued operational safety, aircraft maintenance, or flight operations.

Skills you bring to this role:

Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent foresight, organizational, problem-solving and leadership skills.Understand aerospace manufacturing and quality inspection processes and tools for metallic and non-metallic parts.Ability to work with various Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality personnel, and support a diverse manufacturing/assembly and/or Acceptance Flight test environment.Ability to effectively communicate across other disciplines, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and the Customer relative to team performance, rework/repair and engineering-related production problems.In-depth knowledge of manufacturing technologies to include, but not limited to the following:Aero-structure – Airframe design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, equipment, tool integration, and product verification.Electrical and Mechanical Systems – design, integration and installation manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.Tail, Main and Prop Rotor Blade Systems - design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and bonded assembly manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.Manufacturing Execution Systems - process specifications, CAD/CAM; production planning, material requirements scheduling, and material kitting and handling.Gear and Transmission Drive Systems - metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, tool application, equipment, and product verification.Tool and Equipment Integration – Facility requirements, ergonomics, safety, environmental, automation, robotics, metrology, tool die fabrication, tool design methodology, determinant tooling fixtures, loft practices, flat patterning, numerical controlled programing of equipment, tool cutting/addition technology applied to the fabrication and assembly of vertical lift systems.

What you need to be successful:

10 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience.Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook
