Mgr Infection Control
**Job Summary** The Infection Preventionist plays a key role in protecting patients, staff, and visitors by leading infection prevention efforts across the health system. This includes conducting surveillance, analyzing infection trends, driving regulatory compliance, and educating staff on best practices. The role ensures all standards meet or exceed guidelines set by The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, CMS, CDC, and other regulatory bodies. **Essential Functions** + Conducts annual risk assessments and develops comprehensive infection prevention and control plans based on findings. + Supervises infection surveillance activities, identifying hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and collaborating with department leaders on corrective actions. + Ensures compliance with infection prevention policies, procedures, and regulatory standards as outlined by TJC, OSHA, and CDC. + Leads investigations of infection-related events and ensures timely reporting to internal leadership and regulatory bodies. + Analyzes infection-related data using statistical techniques to identify trends and evaluate program effectiveness. + Educates staff, physicians, and other stakeholders on infection prevention practices through training sessions and resources. + Monitors compliance with infection prevention measures through clinical rounds, audits, and environmental assessments. + Develops and updates evidence-based policies and procedures to reflect current infection control standards and best practices. + Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement strategies that minimize infection risks and enhance patient safety. + Prepares and shares infection prevention reports with key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field required + Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred + 3–5 years of infection prevention experience required + 1–3 years of leadership or management experience preferred **Certifications** + Required: Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CBIC) **within** 2 years of hire. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + In-depth knowledge of infection prevention principles, epidemiology, and healthcare regulations. + Strong analytical skills to evaluate infection data, identify trends, and implement improvements. + Effective communication and presentation skills for educating staff and engaging stakeholders. + Ability to manage multiple priorities, including surveillance, compliance, and staff education. + Leadership and team management skills to foster collaboration and accountability. **What We Offer** + Competitive Pay + Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance + Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Extended Illness Bank (EIB) + 401(k) with Employer Match + Career Advancement Opportunities + Recognition & Rewards Programs + Exclusive Employee Discounts and Perks INDLEAD Equal Employment Opportunity This organization does not discriminate in any way to deprive any person of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect the status of any employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship, veteran status, or military or uniformed services, in accordance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
