MGR I HR BUSINESS PARTNER At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world. **Job Description** The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering a positive employee relations environment, managing complex workplace issues, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. This role also manages labor union relations and oversees HR operations at the plant level, ensuring effective HR service delivery and alignment with business goals. **Work Description** 1. Handle employee grievances, conflict resolution, performance issues, and disciplinary actions in a fair and consistent manner. 2. Monitor and analyze employee relations trends and proactively propose improvement measures. 3. Ensure proper implementation and compliance with company HR policies across the organization. 1. Serve as the main point of contact between management and labor unions. 2. Lead or support collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations in coordination with internal stakeholders. 3. Manage grievance and dispute resolution processes in unionized environments. 4. Maintain a cooperative and transparent relationship with union representatives. 5. Ensure legal and procedural compliance in labor union engagements. 1. Conduct internal investigations into workplace complaints, policy violations, and misconduct cases. 2. Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with labor law and internal governance. 3. Maintain detailed, confidential records of all ER and labor-related cases and investigations. 1. Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on ER topics, including conflict management, workplace ethics, and HR policies. 2. Develop and update HR policies and employee handbooks in accordance with evolving labor laws and organizational needs. 1. Provide regular reports and updates to HR leadership on ER trends, labor issues, case status, and risk mitigation efforts. 2. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure ER and labor relations strategies support organizational goals. 1. Oversee daily HR operations at the manufacturing plant, ensuring compliance with labor and safety regulations. 2. Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for plant employees. 3. Manage time and attendance, shift scheduling, and employee status changes in collaboration with factory line managers. 4. Address site-specific HR issues and coordinate with occupational health and safety teams. 5. Promote employee engagement and communication at the plant level through regular programs and feedback channels. **Qualifications** • Employee & Labor Relations Knowledge Strong understanding of employment law, labor relations, and disciplinary processes. • Conflict Resolution & Investigation Skilled in handling complaints, conducting investigations, and resolving disputes fairly. • Communication & Interpersonal Skills Clear, empathetic communicator with ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including unions. • Legal & Ethical Judgment Ability to assess risk and make sound, ethical decisions aligned with labor regulations. • Analytical Thinking Able to analyze ER trends, identify root causes, and propose data-driven solutions. • Change Management & Cultural Awareness Support organizational change and foster a positive, inclusive work environment. • Process & Policy Management Capable of developing, implementing, and improving ER policies and procedures. • Stakeholder Management Build trust with employees, managers, union reps, and leadership. • Plant HR Operations (if applicable) Experience managing site-level HR issues in a manufacturing or unionized environment. • Language Skills (Not Mandatory) Fluent in English (and Korean, if required); able to work in multicultural settings. **Education** • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. • Master’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, or a related discipline (preferred). • HR or labor relations certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus. **Experience** • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on Employee Relations. • Proven experience managing labor union relationships and collective bargaining processes. • Hands-on experience conducting internal investigations, grievance handling, and disciplinary actions. • Experience working in a unionized or manufacturing environment (preferred for plant HR roles). • Familiarity with local labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance procedures. • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and employee communication strategies. • Previous exposure to managing stakeholder relationships across departments and levels. • Experience in delivering ER or compliance-related training to managers and employees.
