Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to manage the daily operations of the hatchery. This includes planning and executing special projects to maintain an optimal hatching environment, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and consistently applying personnel policies fairly. Key duties involve making weekly projections, sourcing externally when necessary, collaborating with Quality Control to adhere to procedures and cleanliness standards, and monitoring hatchery mechanical performance with a focus on preventive maintenance.
Key ResponsibilitiesProjections and Sourcing: Prepare weekly projections and seek external sources as needed.Quality Control: Work closely with Quality Control to ensure proper procedures are followed and cleanliness is maintained.Mechanical Performance: Calculate hatchery mechanical performance and ensure preventive maintenance is conducted.Team Training and Management: Assist supervisors in training and managing Team Members.Collaboration with Growers and Technicians: Work with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to produce high-quality eggs and with Broiler Growers and Technicians to maintain optimal conditions for chicks.Egg and Chick Management: Fumigate and maintain eggs in the incubator, arrange for chick delivery to farms, and perform other duties as needed.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in poultry, with live receiving experience.Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer skills, including checking email, entering data into templates, and creating simple queries.Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise a team within a single department or work unit, ensuring tasks and activities are interrelated and efficiently managed.Additional Skills: Strong process control abilities, excellent communication and motivational skills, adaptability to ensure chick comfort, and proficiency with computers and software programs.Work ScheduleHours: 6 AM – 4 PM, Monday to Friday.Relocation Assistance Eligible:
