according to business needs and collecting data to monitor progressPosition ResponsibilitiesKey Areas of ResponsibilityManagement Auditing Denial Prevention and Managementmiddot Manages a team of Clinical Documentation Integrity CDI Specialists for inpatient CDI mortality Patient Safety Indicators PSIs Hospital Acquired Conditions HACs and other specialty reviews This position also supports denials and appeals specialists as a subject matter expert SME and collaborates with Revenue Cycle Medical Director to provide provider CDI and coding education for DRG downgrade denials prevention and management middot Validates CDI reviews related to their review process documentation clarificationsqueries and resulting Diagnosis Related Groups DRGs to ensure severity of illness and quality of care consistency and efficiency in data collection and quality outcomes reporting for Hartford HealthCare HHCmiddot Accountable for DRG downgrade denials prevention and internal denial appeal processes Creates HHC strategies for denial prevention middot Accountable for preparingfacilitating written reports on the results of audits and denials including recommendations for improvementsmiddot Presents audit and denial reports results and action plans to Revenue Cycle leadership CDICoding management for discussion and plans for dissemination to providers clinical
