SUMMARY

Purpose of the Position: This position at Baxter will be part of a best-in-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization and acts as an extension of the Medical Products and Therapies organization.  This position leads all FP&A activities for Advanced Surgery within the EMEA region, maintaining significant interaction with senior leadership; the role offers direct support to the Advanced Surgery Finance leads and Advanced Surgery EMEA leadership team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Finance Manager for Global FP&A Advanced Surgery, this role plays an instrumental part in steering Baxter’s financial direction as the EMEA region represents a key area for the Advanced Surgery business. This role requires a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills with a high level of financial and business acumen.

This role is expected to manage the planning and reporting cadence and provide actionable insights that will help support business leaders in informed decision-making. Leadership skills are needed to manage multiple business partners across the diverse countries making up the EMEA region. This role does not have any subordinates.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This FP&A role is responsible for contributing to financial planning and reporting activities and providing strategic support to the whole Advanced Surgery EMEA team.

It will be responsible for the following activities:

Performing strategic financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to assess business performance and facilitate decision making and business support to drive strategic decisions. Examples include pricing and profitability analysis, geographic expansion business case creation and business performance driver analysis on monthly and quarterly results, among othersLead and coordinate areas of the comprehensive planning processes (long range plan, forecasts, operating plan) and monthly financial reviews with senior commercial leaders and Global FP&ADevelop, enhance, and maintain relationships with multiple finance and business customers across the whole EMEA region, including Western Europe, Middle East & Africa and Central Eastern Europe & IsraelLead month end close process and provide frequent P&L updates, as well as investigate and analyze variances.Collaborate with Accounting, Integrated Supply Chain, and broader finance teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive reportingLoad planning information into the financial systems (PlanIT & Gensight) during every forecast process and conduct data validation checks to ensure accuracyConsolidate and create decks for leadership team meetings and monthly results reviewsEnsure quality and timeliness of the monthly reports, forecasts, and the annual budget / strategic plan preparationCoordinate and prepare sales outlook for the whole EMEA region multiple times per monthCollaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, operations, R&D and others to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and timelyIdentify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the FP&A function and drive their implementationProvide coaching, mentoring and collaboration to other finance team members within the FP&A organizationCoordinate escalation / identification of issues and advise Finance leadership of potential business and / or operational risks

REQUIREMENTS

Essential
