General Job Duties
Exhibit an objective, fair, and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.Follow Decostar policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.Ensure adherence to company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.Review and analyze Cost Cards and Price Breakdown Collaboration Documents and provide to Finance and Magna Account Managers for completion of the Quote Capital process and Customer submission.Review Engineering Change Quotes and present findings to both internal teams and customers as appropriate.Collaborate with Magna Account Managers to close open financial issues with customers.Participate in and present information/data as required by Magna Account Managers and customers.Review future capacity with cross-functional departments to ensure desired capacity levels.Ensure all TS16949 requirements (as they relate to departmental responsibilities) are complied with and assist in maintaining all required TS16949 forms and related documentation.Support and maintain the basic principles of the Employee Charter and Constitution by conducting business dealings honestly, ethically, and in strict compliance with all laws and regulations.Specific Job Duties
Act as a representative of Decostar to all tier II suppliers, developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.Responsible for proper staffing levels and management of all Purchasing and Sales positions (8 total reports: 5 direct and 3 indirect).Maintain and achieve Purchasing and Sales KPI targets and report results to management.Develop, maintain, and monitor Purchasing/Sales Budget.Oversee, review, and approve Purchasing BOMs, working within the APQP process and aligning with cross-functional department requirements.Collaborate closely with Suppliers to obtain and develop desired products; requires travel both within and outside the U.S. on a frequent basis.Source and negotiate supplier quotes for materials.Maintain and review records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.Play an integral role in the APQP process from design phase through launch and continuous improvement to ensure successful programs.Continuously analyze the supply chain to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.Collaborate with engineering and development teams to understand design cost drivers and control inputs.Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine need for changes.Analyze and monitor sales records, trends, and economic conditions to anticipate customer needs.Maintain and update required reporting for spend and savings analysis.Negotiate supplier price reductions in alignment with customer cost-reduction initiatives.Lead and facilitate new business quote meetings; work with cross-functional teams to gather required quote details, review with team members, and present finalized proposals to customers.Skills and Experience Required
Strong understanding of automotive operations, including molding, paint, and assembly processes.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels (verbal and written) with strong soft skills, particularly in sales and the ability to ask the right questions at the right time.Effective negotiator with superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with large, detailed sheets.Strong PC skills, including ERP system experience (QAD a plus), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or comparable email system).Ability to travel, sometimes with little notice.Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting critical deadlines.Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience and (5) years of sales experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.Experience working within a Tier 1 automotive supplier environment preferred.Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of driving continuous improvement and cost savings.Knowledge of TS16949 and ISO requirements is a plus.Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Purchasing preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.Physical Requirements
