The Global Network Delivery organization, within AWS, is seeking a business intelligence manager to build our metrics and reporting suite including predictive analytics
This role will provide leadership and operational oversight for a team of business intelligence engineers. You will providing data and insights through a variety of reporting tools as well as developing trend analysis to identify key drivers in the business and identify anomalous activity. You will create predictive modeling, ensure strong data governance, and provide input to the strategic roadmap for continued growth and maturity in the business. You will conduct deep dive investigations into operations execution and business problems, identify opportunities, and lead or support solutions. You will partner with in-house scientists, global supply chain, transportation and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects.
The successful candidate will drive data-driven decision-making, foster cross-functional partnerships, propose and implement new tooling and approaches to data science to mature our ways of working, and elevate support for our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts, business intelligence engineers, and data engineers, ensuring technical proficiency and operational excellence.
- Partner with Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define data and BI development needs
- Oversee the delivery of timely, accurate reporting and analytics to internal and external stakeholders, including proactive trend monitoring and data governance.
- Partner with the organization's leadership team to drive data-centric improvements.
- Define and implement data stack and operating data governance models across the team.
- Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve data quality, metrics, and analytical processes.
- Manage multiple high-priority projects and initiatives, aligning team efforts with business objectives.
- Serve as a senior technical resource for complex analytics projects and data science challenges.
- Collaborate with senior technology leadership to innovate solution strategies and contribute to departmental strategy development.
- Present project progress, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership effectively.
About the team
In AWS Infrastructure, our organization prepares for, plans, and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud. This team drives continuous improvement of AWS Data Centers to provide more efficient and reliable infrastructure to customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
- 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools as well as experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software
- Experience with SQL and ETL
- Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience
- 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
