And so much more.​   ​ Come break through with us.  Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors. **Role Purpose** The primary function of this role is to apply engineering skills to the inspection of metal components used in Corning’s glass manufacturing process. This role requires a metrology skillset, knowledge of measurement techniques, and quality inspection software. This position will own the quality architecture of critical components, making a profound impact across all business units within Corning. **Roles & Responsibilities** + Utilize metrology knowledge to develop inspection methods and procedures for metal components. + Conduct measurements using various metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, laser light scanner, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), etc. + Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints that include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols. + Develop GD&T inspection plans and procedures for quality control. + Use inspection software to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes. + Analyze inspection data to ensure metal components meet specified tolerances and quality standards. Use inspection data to identify trends, issues, and areas for fabrication improvement. + Generate inspection reports and documentation to track quality metrics and compliance. + Communicate findings across all levels of the organization and to outside stakeholders. + Collaborate with operations, engineering, and design teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. + Provide training and guidance to team members on metrology techniques and tools. + We anticipate 10% travel for this role depending on specific project assignments. Travel may be required during installation, debug, and start-up and for routine interaction with customers and suppliers, including some international **Experiences/Education - Required** + BS Degree required in Mechanical Engineering + 2+ years of experience in engineering/manufacturing, metrology, or similar field + Skills in 2-D and 3-D CAD, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and knowledge of ANSI Y14.5-1994 drafting standard + Strong understanding of GD&T principles, standards, and practices. + Proficiency in metrology techniques and principles. + Strong knowledge of measurement tools and equipment. + Knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001). + Experience with inspection software for data collection and analysis. + Analytical skills to interpret measurement data and identify trends or issues. + Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities. + Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills. + Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion. + Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others. **Experiences/Education - Desired** + Prior knowledge of CAM2, VXElements and/or Polyworks inspection software. + Experience with Creaform and/or FARO hardware. + Experience with use of standard computer modeling and analysis software packages used in design of mechanical systems, including Solidworks and AutoCad design software. + Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication. + Entrepreneurial, forward-looking, with knowledge of glass and ceramic manufacturing and precision engineering principles. + Prior experience moving a new product/process from development into production. **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** The range for this position is $79,108.00 - $108,774.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
