Metrology Process Engineer

Micron Technology is seeking a Waferless Metrology Engineer to develop and optimize CAD-based metrology recipes for advanced semiconductor process control. This role is critical to enabling high-throughput, non-contact inspection workflows that improve yield and reduce cycle time!

The Waferless team is a small team that is an integral part of the overall Metrology team. Attention to detail, self-motivating, and an eye for efficiency are just a few of the values that help make this team successful.

As a Waferless Engineer at Micron, we work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. We provide production support role by using a technology combining CADs and critical dimensions to generate line monitor recipes without the wafer.

The role requires a close working relationship with the team. Ability to assess written requests and turn them into functioning recipes. Goal orientated, we measure our success through statistics that are goal based. This is an onsite role that is done from a PC located in a bullpen. Cleanroom access to perform this work will not be necessary.

Responsibilities:

Develop and validate waferless metrology recipes using CAD data for SEM and other inspection toolsTranslate design intent from CAD files into actionable measurement coordinates and alignment strategies.Collaborate with process integration, yield enhancement, and equipment engineering teams to define critical features for inspectionAutomate recipe generation workflows to support high-volume manufacturing and R&D.Troubleshoot recipe execution issues and refine CAD-to-tool communication protocols.Analyze metrology data to identify process deviations and support root cause analysis.Maintain documentation for recipe standards, tool configurations, and best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field, OR 2+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor metrology, process engineering, or CAD-based recipe development.Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Calibre, AutoCAD) and metrology platforms (e.g., SEM, CD-SEM, overlay tools).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with scripting or automation tools (Python, MATLAB, etc.) is a plus.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with waferless metrology workflows or recipe automation.Knowledge of semiconductor process flows and critical dimension controlExposure to statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools (JMP, Excel, etc.)
