Position Summary:

Metrology Engineer is responsible for generating metrology programs, completing GR&R studies and supporting the metrology requirements of the wider organization. Supports the validation of equipment and processes, to ensure consistent/predictable outputs. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to metrology. Investigates problems and recommends disposition, modification, and corrective action for recurring or non-recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with quality, manufacturing, engineering, customer, supplier and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

Generate CMM (PC Dmis) & Vision System (OGP/PCDMIS/Calypso) programs.Support generating FAI/OQ/PQ reports for new product introduction.Manage and generate Gauge Capability Study.Identify and support new jigs and fixtures required for new product introduction.Support new product introduction.Constantly seeks to improve work processes; Has a quality-first mentality; Learns from internal and external best practices to apply to her/his workSupports all company Lean Manufacturing principlesSupport continuous improvement projects.Conduct root cause investigations for non-conforming products.Maintain the external calibration schedule.Maintain and conduct internal calibrations on specific equipment against documented work instructions.Maintain calibration database of measuring equipment.Manage introduction and validation of the new metrology equipment.Support continuous operation of the metrology equipment and troubleshooting all occurring issues.Supports all company quality programs and initiatives.Timeliness in addressing Quality System Requirements.Principles of data integrity must be strictly adhered to.All activities to be performed in strict accordance with the Quality Management System.Takes personal accountability for your own safety. Support culture of safety management through compliance with all safety policies, safety observation reporting and proactive involvement in Jabil AIM and Safety-First programs.Ensures compliance with all company policies and practices in areas such as safety and all regulatory compliance.Role model and promote the organizations Values and Behaviors.Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Job Specifications: The minimum education and experience required to perform this job competently.   

BSc Degree or equivalent 2+ years of experience in Quality/Metrology Engineering role.Fully competent in Quality Management Standards.Ability to work in a team environment.Excellent organizational, communication, computer and presentation skills.Proficient in MS Office application, Minitab, OGP Smartscope, PC Dmis experience desirable.CT Scanner programming and operation a plus but not required.Performance and results driven. Excellent lean operations leadership, organizational and communication skills.Customer focused, motivated, enthusiastic, self-directed & results driven leader.Ability to motivate self and others and work in a team environment.Excellent initiative and decision-making capabilities.High level of c-GMP, safe working practices and awareness.

Organization Linkages:

Site Quality Manager/HC QA Lead. Liaise on any operational quality issues or product quality issues.Quality Engineers. Liaise with QEs on product specifications, customer contact, process validations, routine QC results, and any changes needed to the metrology/QC requirements.Calibration Technicians. Arrange for timely calibration of equipment, and support investigations for any out of tolerance results noted. Also escalate if there are any performance issues with metrology equipment.Team Members & Managers. Liaise with workcell and functional people/teams on ongoing metrology performance, and any technical or operational alignments needed, on quality of efficiency matters.Customer. With QE,s liaise with customer to discuss tolerances and measurement methods, to meet customer requirements.
