This position provides regional tourism industry outreach for the service area defined as the Metro Region by Explore Minnesota. Specifically, this position conducts a broad array of duties in support of agency-specific programs which include conducting a proactive schedule of outreach to the industry through meetings and contacts with tourism-focused communities and travel-related businesses, providing oversight of grant programs, and assisting in the coordination of agency projects, special events, task forces, marketing programs, presentations, and general representation of Explore Minnesota in public and industry-facing settings. This position will assist in the day-to-day management of projects with integration/collaboration between internal teams and divisions. The position will work with agency staff, including the Industry Relations team, Deputy Directors and Executive Director, to implement programs statewide, regionally, nationally, and beyond to inspire consumers to travel or relocate to Minnesota. **Job duties include, but are not limited to:** + The primary contact for community and tourism organizations and businesses within the designated region and other sectors as assigned. + Represent Explore Minnesota, its programs and opportunities externally, and be a conduit for information between assigned stakeholders and internal agency departments. + Perform work on various programs, team and agency initiatives as directed by the Industry Relations Manager, Deputy Director of Destination Development and/or leadership team. + Development and administration of grants and other industry programs utilizing established processes and best practices. + Perform other duties as assigned to support the Explore Minnesota office. **Minimum Qualifications** **To be qualified and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Applicants that meet the above minimum qualifications will be further evaluated on the following: + Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and customers from different backgrounds + Professional experience with writing and managing contracts, grants, agreements, reports and creating presentations. + Experience with Asana project management software (or similar) and use of communication and reporting tools is preferred. Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. + Experience in contracting and managing vendors for the procurement of goods and services and managing project budgets + Ability to work independently, organize and conduct in-person and virtual meetings and presentations + Knowledge of marketing principles, including social media marketing tools. + Incumbent must maintain a valid driver's license and insurance, OR have other reliable transportation **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge of the Minnesota travel product is preferred. + Demonstrates an understanding of the occupational principles of marketing, program administration, internal programs, and processes. + Experience working as a part of a cross-functional team. + Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
