Meter Electrician C-A

What You'll Do:

Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billingInstall, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters.Test single-phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracyProgram metersPerform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-paymentInvestigate irregular usageInvestigate energy diversionRepair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosuresOrder, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipmentInvestigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reportsPerform work from ladders and elevated platforms

What We're Looking For:

Education requirements are listed below:

Associates Degree in electrical/electronic technology.Equivalent education and experience is limited to military training and work experience of technical/technician nature (such as aviation and nuclear instrumentation technician).

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

State Driver's License

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.Work late shifts as needed.Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive mannerProficiently use computers and applications related to this position.Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the general public.Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct.Report hazards and abnormal conditions.Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.

Meter Electrician B: $34.99- $38.49

Meter Electrician A: $40.29 - $51.36

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.   Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
