Job Summary/Description:
KFVS-TV is searching for a meteorologist who can be a leader in severe weather coverage and tell the weather story day in and day out that is clutter-free. In Cape Girardeau, you will experience tornadoes, heat, humidity, floods, snow, ice, hurricane rain and winds, thunderstorms, fires, and sunshine.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce and present compelling First Alert weather content for all platforms (broadcast, digital, streaming, social)
- Produce weather segments for other meteorologists on the team, and provide support during severe weather coverage
- Work closely with digital and weather teams to create and execute an aggressive First Alert Weather strategy on digital, streaming, and social platforms
- Produce and present compelling First Alert traffic content as needed
- Report live in the field on weather and community events
Qualifications/Requirements:
- B.S. degree in meteorology/earth sciences or an equivalent combination of education and meteorology experience
- Broadcast Experience
- Experience with The Weather Company weather systems (formerly WSI) required
