Job Description

The site MES/ Proficy Site System Owner (SSO) is expected to manage the administration of the MES system from a business perspective. The SSO/ KU is the single point of contact at a site for the MES System. Depending on the size of the site, organization structure and other factors, SSO may own one, several or all the given systems/ applications.

Summary of responsibilities include:

Accountable for maintaining the system including issue escalation and resolution.The first line of support is when a user raises an issue and can assess when there is truly an issue versus when there is a gap in user understanding of the system.CAPA Resolution where specific site actions required, seeing CAP tasks through to closure, in a timely manner“Green Zone” Configuration for pre-defined, low-risk changes to the locally owned configurations. Configurations for Yellow/Red Zone changes to be coordinated with GBS central resources in line with both site and global change management policies.Responsible for the use and adoption of the system, including identifying opportunities for the site to further leverage the system to eliminate losses and drive savings. Incident management, system performance, health checks, Master data management, small projects i.e., continuous improvement.Maintain Certification via SSO university standards and continuous development.Managing User training and work procedures for the system.The SSO/ KU role requires close collaboration and leadership with various departments across the site (GBS, Engineering and Quality), with the global and regional SSO/KU community and the global Manufacturing Services organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are common across any SSO, regardless of the solution. If a site has more than 1 SSO, there will need to be written

agreement on who is responsible for which of these shared responsibilities.

Build / Maintain Application Mastery

• Develop base understanding of overall MES solution architecture at the site and how components relate to each other.• Utilize and leverage Job Aids as needed.• Develop deep mastery in the MES solutions for which the SSO is responsible, and how to effectively manage all Master data requiredfor the solutions owned.• Develop fundamental understanding of interfaces with external systems at the plant (e.g., SAP) and interdependencies betweenthem.• Extends knowledge through contacts with regional LE, AM, PM, IM Pillar leaders, GBS support organizations, site ICA leader, GBU REleaders and corresponding SSO Networks.• Identify and communicate improvement areas for the solutions owned to the system and site work process owners and solutionBusiness Row Leaders through written change requests.• Attend any global or regional solution meetings scheduled for a given solution area.• Get qualified according to the SUC for the owned digital solutions.• Be Familiar with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 or similar regulations that apply at the site, related to Electronic Signatures and ElectronicRecords Management.• Stay current with changes to Pillar / HPN work process training materials and functionality via Key User networks, regional mee8ngsand ongoing training as required.

Ongoing Administration / Change Management

Security: Grant, Remove, and maintain access privileges to users as needed.Perform all required tasks to update and maintain master data and “site allowable” configuration. (e.g., reason trees, fault translation tables, shift schedule, products, quality attributes and variables, etc.).Serve as data owner, addressing data inconsistencies reported by users in both the client and reports.Own the site change management process for the solutions and departments for which the SSO is responsible. Partner with the corresponding site Pillar and End users to document site-initiated change requests according to the standard after ensuring the CR is consistent with the corporate SWP and not already available within the existing corporate digital solutions.Contribution to the aligned CSV procedures, governance of procedures and responsibility to update as part of change management proceduresUse the Ticket process to communicate solution Bugs to GBSAttending Sector/Regional BRL/SSO calls to understand what is going on with digital solutions and communicate all changes to thebusiness as needed.Update relevant site-specific solution documentation (CBA’s, job aids, etc.) and deploy it to end users.Develop and maintain site / operation specific documenta8on for work process, solution, and information / physical flow.Work with direct manager and corresponding site Pillar Leader to Develop a succession plan for the role.

Leveraging MES Solutions: User Adoption / Training

Understand how MES Solutions and its data can be used as a tool to help the plant deliver and improve its business results.Identify new ways to leverage MES Solutions to eliminate losses.Champion MES Solutions at the plant. Drive user adoption by serving as a knowledgeable resource to all users on the site, providing end-user training and answering system use questions.Help line/system teams and plant management leverage MES Solutions data by using MES Solutions tools.Manage training and documentation requirements for all end users in the plant.Maintain plant MES Solutions CBA (Current Best Approach) documents and deploy to users.Drive capability improvements through ongoing coaching and education of End Users on the proper use of digital solutions to enable efficient execution of standard work processes.Interact with Key Users from other work process areas within the site / operation to eliminate work process and solution/transactional losses.Drive out local solutions where global, scaled capability exists. Work to engage local solution owners and GBS teams to evaluate opportunities to eliminate local solutions

Implementations/Upgrades

Communicate application changes to users at the site.Assist in tasks required for MES Solutions implementation/upgrades in the site.Function as the main contact to get the master data preparation material to the Technical Configuration TeamPerform the Operational Qualification (OQ) of MES Solution functionalities during implementation projects and complete and return ACF (Acceptance Criteria Form) forms.Support system testing on an as needed basis.Understanding of latest versions of platform and components with scheduling of upgrades to site to stay on latest versionExpert navigating MES adoption tracking dashboard, maintaining correct visibility for site usage of solutions and documented perspective where gaps exist in line with sites IWS phase

Support

Serve as First level troubleshooting of all reported issues. The expectation is to accept calls/pages for Critical issues on a 24/7 basis.Solve 100% of user problems that are documented by Job Aids.Only escalate items that are not documented by Job Aids to Service Management resources.Regular preventa8ve maintenance via available observability and health check tools (ie. Proficy Health checks)Can articulate and are able to use the support model including the efficient use of the escalation process to report and resolve problems.Maintain list of plant users who are authorized to contact support.Escalate issues to the support organization and follow through on resolutions.Escalate issues to the support organization that are beyond the Job Aids and follow through on resolutions.Communicate changes in site personnel and technical information to the MES Solutions support team.Responsibility starts with raising the tickets and ends when the resolution provided by the manufacturing ops is acceptable and the ticket is closed.

Effort Time Required

Each site will have mandatory at least 1 SSO. SSOs level could be from BTA to Band level, reporting 100% to the Site Digital Leader. The effort time though required for a Site System Owner to perform their job is highly variable and is based on several factors, including:

Complexity of the plant’s solution (i.e., line configurations, modules used, etc.)# of users at the siteAmount of change in the business requiring SSO intervention (e.g., new brand codes, etc.)# of departments (making, packing, etc.) for which the SSO is responsible# of solution areas (reliability, quality, etc.) for which the SSO is responsibleCurrent Implementation “maturity” of the Site (e.g., is the plant ramping up for a lot of implementations in new solution or is the plant in maintain and supporting the initiatives mode)
