Mercy Retirement and Care Center - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

The shift for this role  pays $35 to $45 an hour DOE

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team! This role is a vital part in the care of our residents and and to be a valued member of our community! We look forward to learning more about how, together, we can Transform the Perception of Age!


Our Licensed Practical Nurses:


Provide compassionate and effective care and treatments to our residents.  Work with a team of professionals to ensure the residents comprehensive needs are met. Review routines, calendar of events and resident needs Ensure medications and supplies are ordered, in stock and counted Ensure all charting and record keeping is accurate and complete Attend meetings, trainings Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age, our Culture of Excellence, in all areas of responsibility. Givea thorough report to oncoming shift. Updates 24 hour report. Calendars appropriately for upcoming needs. Performs other duties as assigned.


What you need to succeed!

Must be at least 18 years of age. Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services prior to presence in the community. Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months. Current First Aid Training and Certifications as per Title 22. A current nursing license issued by the State of California is required. Minimum of six months in long term care, home care or related field. Demonstrated competence in technical and manual skills according to the scope of practice for RN's/LVN's.
Working knowledge of computers and typing, sufficient enough to be successful with computerized Point of Care and other systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Knowledge of aging process and implications of aging in a social setting. 
Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, peers and employees in a multi-cultural environment.


Physical Requirements:


· On occasion, may need to push/pull/support up to 75lbs.
