The opportunity

The Merchandiser plays an integral role in supporting the Merchandising Manager in the seasonal development and management of the wholesale product lines. The Merchandiser consults with decorators and brand specialists to always have insight on opportunities to improve or enhance their brand. The Merchandiser position sits in the Product Department, reporting directly to the Manager, Merchandising.

 

The role

Line plan management; this involves ensuring forecast accuracy, costing accuracy and clarity of competitors to benchmark price targets. Seasonal Sample Management – Demonstrating strategic acumen in overcoming challenges and identifying viable alternatives.Linesheet Management – Maintaining precision in page updates and adherence to delivery timelines.Ensure a best-in-class appearance on Gildan Brands in-house site, and distributor sites, collaborating with the Brand team on verbiage and proofing copy on both our internal sites and other websites, where Gildan products are sold.Support the Manager/Director/VP in the preparation for key meetings, customer visits, etc.

The requirements 

 A Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Supply Chain or a related discipline.At least two-four (2-4) years' experience in an Apparel, Product or Marketing environment or a similar field.Knowledge of retail math is required.Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook are required.Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Results oriented.Good team player.High level of creative skills.
