About the role:
We are currently looking for a Merchandise Manager to join our team. This is a rare senior leadership opportunity to inspire a talented team of buyers, develop compelling merchandise strategies, and shape the future of our business across Australia and New Zealand.
As Merchandise Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic team to create and implement best-in-class merchandise range, price, service, and marketing strategies. You will foster high-performing partnerships with suppliers locally and globally and nurture the next generation of commercial leaders within the business. Your vision and expertise will ensure Bunnings continues to deliver outstanding value and an unmatched customer experience.
What’s involved:
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local and multi-national suppliers to unlock mutual value and long-term partnerships.
Build and strengthen internal relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve business objectives.
Leverage market and industry knowledge to build out category strategies
Coach and mentor the buyers within the category to develop;
Strong supplier partnerships
Strategic plans
Opportunities to optimise range and brand architecture
Initiatives to drive productivity & efficiencies aimed at delivering breathtaking value to our customers
Identify growth opportunities through global best practise, trends and product innovation
Merchandising solutions to make it easy for our customers to shop instore and online.
Design and deliver engaging promotional programs to delight customers and drive participation
Who we’re looking for:
You will be an experienced Retail Merchandise Manager who can take the designated category to the next level, an individual that is innovative, self-motivated and strives for continual success.
You will have the ability to engage, liaise and work with cross functional stakeholders across all levels of the organisation to effectively influence, communicate and implement strategies throughout the network.
You’ll need:
Tertiary qualification in Marketing/Commerce/Economics
Demonstrated experience in buying & category management within the retail industry
Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial flair
Hold strong people leadership skills with proven experience building team capability
Strong financial management & marketing knowledge
You are strategic, can articulate a vision and you have exceptional influencing skills
