We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits Consulting team at Mercer – Canada. This role will be based in Montreal. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Develop strategies and solutions related to the costs and funding of group insurance plansParticipate in actuarial valuations of post-retirement benefits, including data validation, setting assumptions, analyzing plan gains and losses and preparing the valuation reportValidate and compare premiums for group benefit plans under renewals, quotes or benchmarking exercises with other companies in the industryProduce quarterly experience monitoring reports for clients and analyze the impact of any recent changesAnalyze financial statements of group insurance plans and review the financial agreement to suit the client needsEvaluate employer obligations by participating in each step of an actuarial valuationAssist in updating national databases of Mercer clientsWork in collaboration with professionals to resolve technical actuarial problems specific to group insurance and the business sectorFamiliarize oneself with Mercer products and services as well as group benefit market trends in order to meet client needsUnderstand group benefit coverage by reviewing contractual documents for the employer and employeesWhat you need to have:
A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, administration or a related field.Superior analytical skills and working knowledge of Excel and others MS-Office software programs.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Intellectual curiosity; seeking opportunities to develop new skills.Strong aptitude for teamwork and a willingness to be adaptable to meet deadlines and accommodate shifting client needs.Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail.Excellent communication and presentation skills in French and English, as the position requires regular interaction with clients outside of Quebec, as well as collaboration with other members of the team outside of Canada.Why join our team:
