Job Summary
The Mental Health Worker II provides direct and supportive care to patients with behavioral health needs under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. This role assists with activities of daily living, monitors patient behavior and safety, and supports therapeutic interventions. The Mental Health Worker II plays an essential role in promoting a safe, structured environment and contributes to the interdisciplinary care team in delivering high-quality behavioral health services.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience as a patient care assistant in a mental health setting requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of behavioral health principles, crisis intervention techniques, and de-escalation strategies. Ability to maintain therapeutic boundaries and respond appropriately in high-stress situations. Strong observational, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Physically able to assist in crisis intervention, including restraining patients as needed. Demonstrates compassion, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.Licenses and Certifications
BCLS - Basic Life Support required
