Job Summary and Qualifications The Mental Health Technician (MHT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to behavioral health nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of theRegisteredNurse, the MHTassiststhe nursing staff in providing patient carein accordance withthe MHT’s skills/training and the needs of thedepartment, andconsistentlyassiststhe patient care team withmaintaininga clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The MHTcomplies withall hospital policies/procedures andobservesthe State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.? What you will do in this role:? + Activelyparticipatein departmental PI, as assigned by Unit Director.? + Assumeresponsibility tomaintainknowledge of and compliance with all current hospital and departmental policies.? + Demonstratethe knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria,appropriate tothe age of patients served in his/her assigned service area. + Demonstrateappropriate age-relatednursing skills. + Ensurepatient documentation isaccurate, legible,and effectively completedin a timely manner.? What qualifications you will need:?? + High SchoolDiploma orAssociate’s Degreein related fieldrequired. + BasicLifeSupport(BLS)requiredwithin90daysof hire(facility provided). + Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)certificationrequiredwithin90daysof hire(facility provided)? + Priormental health experience preferred.? + 1 year ofhospitalornursing home experience preferred.? Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includesa state-of-the-artneurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
