Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Mental Health & Substance Use Counselor Posting Summary Provide individual and group counseling and crisis intervention services to students. Provide crisis intervention and crisis counseling for students when needed. Provide consultation to faculty, staff, students, parents, and other professionals. Provide referral support and case management for students. Provide preventive health education and health promotion initiatives to UVM students and the greater UVM community, supporting students from all backgrounds. Provide counseling through the BASICS program. Coordinate and provide support for Catamount Recovery Resources. Work as part of a dedicated team in the implementation of a strategic prevention framework to support a public health approach to substance misuse prevention. Responsible for supporting the mission and philosophy of the CHWB , Division of Student Affairs and the University of Vermont. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Master’s degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, social work or other related discipline, state licensed or eligible and three years related experience to include supervision of staff required. Experience with mental health issues and substance use/misuse/prevention for college age students. Experience with electronic health record systems. Desirable Qualifications LADC preferred. Anticipated Pay Range $57,000-$71,000 for 11-month term Other Information All CHWB employees are considered Healthcare workers as defined in Vermont State Law. Vaccination against infectious diseases helps to protect against contracting infectious diseases and helps to provide “herd immunity”.
