About the Team

At Nutanix, you will be joining the Files QA team, a diverse group of innovative professionals spread across both the US and India. Our team thrives on collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional quality in our products. You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager who is dedicated to providing guidance and support to help you excel in your role. Our work setup is hybrid, allowing team members to work remotely while requiring 2–3 days a week in the office for collaborative sessions, team-building activities, and hands-on engagement. 


Your Role

1. Regression Testing Strategy & Planning

Define and maintain a regression testing strategy aligned with release cycles.Identify high-impact test cases for regression and ensure proper coverage.Prioritize regression scope based on risk analysis and product changes.

2. Test Suite Maintenance

Develop and maintain a robust suite of automated and manual regression test cases.Ensure obsolete or low-value tests are pruned and relevant scenarios are covered.Maintain test data and environment configurations needed for regression.

3. Automation Leadership

Lead automation efforts to improve test execution speed and reliability.Collaborate with automation engineers to optimize and expand test coverage.Recommend tools and frameworks to support scalable regression testing.

4. Team Collaboration & Coordination

Coordinate regression efforts across multiple QA teams.Communicate regression timelines, blockers and outcomes to stakeholders.Assign tasks to QA engineers and ensure timely execution of regression cycles.

5. Quality Gate Ownership

Own the final regression sign-off before code release to production.Review test results, analyze failures, and ensure defect triage is performed.Escalate critical issues and ensure no regression leaks into production.

6. Reporting & Metrics

Track and report key metrics such as defect leakage, test pass rates, and cycle time.Provide regression testing dashboards for leadership visibility.Conduct retrospectives and implement continuous improvements.

7. Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement improvements in regression processes, tools, and practices.Stay updated with industry trends and recommend best practices for QA efficiency.Train and mentor junior QA staff with regression strategies and tools.

What You Will Bring

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.10–12 years of overall experience.6–8 years of professional QA Engineering experience, with regression testing.

Technical Skills:

Solid understanding of software data & file storage technologies.Proficient in Python with hands-on experience in test automation frameworks.Skilled in writing/debugging automation tests for enterprise software.Experience troubleshooting/debugging in Linux or Windows.Familiarity with NFS and SMB protocols (advantageous).Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure (preferred).

Soft Skills & Work Environment:

Strong intrapersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Excellent teamwork skills, adaptable to time zone differences (US and Asia).Self-motivated with minimal supervision.Comfortable working in a matrixed organization.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
