Position Summary:
The Certified Pharmacy Technician – Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) supports safe and timely pharmaceutical care delivery as part of the Bozeman Health Cancer Center’s oral oncology program. This role operates under a Collaborative Practice Agreement to enhance patient care and medication access for oral oncolytics. The technician ensures regulatory compliance and pharmacy standards while promoting patient engagement and communication. This position is held by a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed by the Montana Board of Pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ At least eighteen (18) years of age.
+ Current Montana Certified Pharmacy Technician License, or ability to complete within orientation period.
+ Current National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) upon hire.
Preferred:
+ One (1) year of pharmacy technician experience.
+ Prior experience in customer service roles.
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
+ Supports a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) between oncology providers and pharmacists.
+ Coordinates affordable and timely patient access to oral oncolytics.
+ Communicates professionally and effectively with patients during onboarding and follow-up for the oral oncology program.
+ Obtains medication histories and confirms accuracy of home medication use during patient intake.
+ Documents medication histories within the electronic health record and communicates findings to the pharmacist.
+ Coordinates with healthcare professionals to facilitate enrollment in financial assistance programs.
+ Assists the pharmacist with prescription dispensing, including accurate filling, data entry, labeling, and charging.
+ Maintains drug inventories to support dispensing needs.
+ Supports oncology pharmacy workflow functions as assigned by pharmacy leadership.
+ Completes record keeping, billing reports, audits, and quality improvement tasks assigned by pharmacy leadership.

Schedule Requirements
+ This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
+ The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
