Labcorp is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to join a dynamic team in support of our New York, NY lab.  This position will work with physician offices, hospital laboratories, and internal customers to ensure that all client needs are addressed accurately and efficiently, resulting in exceptional client and patient care.  The Client Services Representative handles a wide variety of needs from simple to complex, working within a caring and supportive team that strives to provide a world-class customer experience.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping others, appreciates the importance of their role in patient care, and feels motivated to be part of a great team in an innovative company.

**Pay Range: $22.00 - $32.00 Hourly

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 AM-6:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:  

Transcribe and dictate grossing and microscopic descriptions of surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.Accurate and timely data entry of dictated and/or handwritten pathology cases into the laboratory information systemProvides complete and accurate resolution to all user inquiries or redirects the inquirer to the appropriate resource(s) in a timely mannerIdentifies problems, determines and provides/implements appropriate corrective action/accurate solutionsResearches, troubleshoots, and follows up to ensure all inquiries/problems are resolved in a timely mannerTranscribe medical reports, summaries, office visit notes, and other medical documents from recorded messages from health care providersProvide online copies of transcribed documents to physicians or other providers for review and signature, making corrections or changes as notedWork with transcription and dictation equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing, and computer softwareMaintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality according to provider standards and government regulationsReview transcription documents for quality assurance and precision to spot and correct any errors that could impact patient care and medical liabilityCreate templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archives

Requirements:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalentPrevious transcriptionist experience, preferably in PathologyExperience with transcriptionist software is preferredExcellent data entry and typing skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detailsProficient in Microsoft Office
