To perform the general technical assignments and testing in the section in accordance with current procedures and quality standards, under the supervision of the Section Manager/Supervisor, ensuring that turnaround times agreed in each contract are met **Job Functions/Responsibilities** Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which centre around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance. As a member of staff, the employee is expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs. + Toprocess samples and issuereportsin accordance with written procedures.Theseshould beprocessed within agreed turnaroundtimes. + To maintain, calibrate and validatetheinstruments/assaysassignedto the section according towrittenlaboratoryprocedures. + Tomaintain regular inventory ofallreagentsand spare partsrequiredin thissectioninordertoensure availability andfuture reagent usageprior to expiry dates. + Toadhere towritten internal and external quality control procedures in ordertoensure the qualityofthe results. + Consults withLead MedicalTechnologist/Supervisor prior toreportinggrossly abnormalresultsand whenanout of control test run is encountered. 4%Preparesreagentsasneeded,maintains qualitycontrolrecords,compilesany required statisticaldata and maintainsthecleanlinessof work areas. + To ensure the proper preparation andstorageof samples. + Tofile and archiverawdata and worklists. + To receive reagent delivery, reconcile returnedinvoicesand purchaseorders. + Participates inrequiredContinuous Professional EducationPrograms,including conferences,internal journal club and lectures, asrequired. + To carry out specifictasksrelevanttothe generalrunningofthelaboratory as assigned bysenior personnel. Supervision He/she has the authority: + To order reagents which have been authorised by Finance and Senior Personnel. + Tocontact engineerstoarrangefortheservice of the instrumentsofhis/ her responsibility as instructed byseniorpersonnel. + Tovalidateor reject resultsinthe LlMSthroughtheinterpretation of internal quality control results, prior toreviewbyseniorpersonnel. + To releaseand reviewresultsas authorisedby the Lead Medical Technologist or Senior Labstaff. **Experince, Skills, Knowledge & Requirements** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily.
