Job Overview: 

Processes, performs, and results medical diagnostic testing on body fluids by automated and manual methods in a timely manner under the supervision of senior technologists.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and /or related science, chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited institution or military service equivalent Minimum 6 month of clinical laboratory experience or equivalent experienceASCP Certification for MLS/MT or eligible within 8 months of employmentKnowledge of specialized principles or techniques

Preferred: 

One-year working experience

Per DiemEvening shiftWeekend and Holiday rotation

Essential Functions:

Assists in the training of new employees and studentsWorks on special projects as requested by the DirectorSegregates laboratory wastes according to established policiesVerifies orders from scripts and orders procedures in HIS and LISMaintains, troubleshoots and repairs instruments and lab equipment if possibleMaintains all necessary QC, QA and repair records required by accreditation agenciesProduces medical diagnostic test results in an efficient and cost-effective manner for stat and routine specimensApplies the knowledge and skills necessary to assess data reflective of each patient's status and provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatricAssists in clerical duties as needed
