Job Overview:

The Medical Technologist is a Clinical Laboratory healthcare professional who performs complex lab tests that help detect, diagnose, and treat diseases.

Working with advanced instrumentation and biological specimens, the Medical Technologist ensures accurate and timely results to support clinical decision-making.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or related fieldGraduation from a NAACLS-accredited MT/CLS training programProficiency in core lab areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunologyFamiliarity with automated lab equipment and LIS platforms

Preferred:

1-2 years in a clinical lab preferred, but entry-level candidates with training may be considered

Certifications and Licenses Required:

ASCP, AMT, or equivalent national certification State licensure may be mandatory depending on jurisdictionBLS certification may be preferred in hospital settings

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift working, 7-3pmMust be able to cover every other weekend and Holidays as neededFull-Time (FT)

Essential Functions:

Analyze patient samples for chemical, hematological, microbiological, immunological, and molecular componentsOperate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzersImplement quality control protocols and verify accuracy of resultsRecord test findings in Laboratory Information Systems and communicate critical values promptlyFollow standard operating procedures for specimen handling and processingAssist with development and validation of new testing techniquesMaintain compliance with regulatory agencies e,g, CLIA, CAP, OSHAUphold safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards
