Summary

The Medical Staff Coordinator position supports the physician governance committee with agenda prep, follow up items, documentation of minutes, flow and facilitation of meetings within medical staff structure.

Position Description

Provide administrative and clerical support to medical staff with minimal supervision.Support locum and travel-type physiciansInterpret medical staff bylaws and communicate policy/procedure changes.Coordinate and plan Medical Staff Committees and events with physician leadership and clinical teams.Document medical staff meetings in compliance with medical/legal and peer review standards.May assist with credentialing, including:Managing provider files (online and paper)Verifying credentials from primary sourcesMaintaining current documentationCommunicating key updates and findings as needed

Preferred Qualifications

MUST have excellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of medical staff servicesExperience with credentialingStrong organizational and planning skillsExcellent written and verbal communication Ability to work independently Attention to detail Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) Familiarity with medical/legal terminology Experience supporting medical staff or physician leadership

Qualifications

Associates degree required in related field -OR- three year's of relevant work experience.

Microsoft Office Certification preferred
