No County Albany Street Address Capital District Psychiatric Center 75 New Scotland Avenue City Albany State NY Zip Code 12209 Duties Description As a Medical Specialist 2 at Capital District Psychiatric Center, you will diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide specialized medical care and treatment services to individuals with mental illness including:• Conducting physical examinations; ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests; diagnosing and treating medical conditions.• Prescribing medications, therapies, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care, modifying treatment as needed. • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve treatment goals and objectives.• Maintaining medical documentation consistent with agency, State, and federal requirements.• Participating in discharge planning and collaborating with other providers and disciplines. Minimum Qualifications Capital District Psychiatric Center is recruiting a physician to serve as a Medical Specialist 2. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.Minimum Qualifications:Candidates from outside State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed to practice medicine in New York State and have certification by Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in your specialty.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Additional Comments Medical Specialists 2 have an opportunity to earn up to 50% of their salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverage.
