The Medical Secretary will provide administrative support to laboratory managers/operations and physicians/scientists for their roles in Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program. Some responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, transcription of confidential pathology and laboratory medical reports, correspondence and procedures; prepare committee materials (including agendas, presentations and minute taking); administer, process and maintain financial records; enter and access laboratory specimen information into patient electronic chart (i.e. Epic, Clinical Connect); make critical test result phone calls to providers, laboratory staff payroll support and other duties as assigned.

1. Graduate of Community College Medical Secretarial program or equivalent2. Medical Terminology relating to Laboratory Medicine3. Demonstrated proficient keyboarding skills (60 wpm)4. Demonstrated proficient computer skills in word processing, spread sheets and database systems, Clinical Connect, EPIC, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook Calendar, Windows, SharePoint5. Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills within a professional environment6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment7. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities8. Experience within a Laboratory environment a strong asset9.
