Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Scheduler to join our radiology department in Rocklin, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in coordinating patient appointments, ensuring seamless communication, and maintaining accurate documentation within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience in medical scheduling and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule radiology appointments using electronic medical records systems like Cerner and other specialized software.
• Ensure patient appointments are accurately booked based on procedure requirements, provider availability, and physician referrals.
• Update schedules to accommodate cancellations, rescheduling requests, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain precise records by entering patient information, appointment details, and procedure codes into the system.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and collaborate with billing teams to ensure proper documentation.
• Communicate promptly with patients, referring physicians, and internal teams through written channels.
• Follow established protocols and policies to ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and other department staff to prevent scheduling conflicts and delays.
• Work closely with the front desk, billing, and patient services teams to ensure a smooth patient experience on appointment days. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; medical office administration training or certification is a plus.
• Previous experience in a medical scheduling, receptionist, or related role within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with radiology procedures and terminology is preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Cerner and other scheduling tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and confidentiality practices.
