Description The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with an Indianapolis healthcare network to add a Medical Scheduler to their team. Following a 2-3 week onsite training, this will be a primarily remote position. The ideal candidate must have strong communication and customer service skills. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30 pm Responsibilities for the position include the following: + Manages Patient Appointments: Handles scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations for new and existing patients across various providers and specialties within the electronic health record (EHR) system. + Patient Liaison: Serves as the main contact for patients, answering calls and messages, and providing essential information about appointments, preparation, and required documents. + Maintains Patient Records: Accurately inputs and updates patient demographics, insurance details, and medical information. Verifies insurance eligibility and secures pre-authorizations for procedures. + Optimizes Provider Schedules: Manages and adjusts provider schedules for efficiency, coordinating with clinical staff to fit in urgent appointments and minimize gaps. + Handles Referrals: Processes and tracks patient referrals from internal and external sources, ensuring all necessary information is complete before scheduling. + Performs Clerical Support: Carries out administrative tasks such as preparing appointment lists, managing charts, and keeping the work area organized. + Facilitates Patient Flow: Collaborates with front desk and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient check-in and check-out experiences. + Ensures Confidentiality: Strictly adheres to HIPAA regulations, always maintaining patient confidentiality.
