\nJob Summary
\nThe Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst handles many tasks in the HIM department. These include completing birth registry requirements, scanning and quality control of medical records, and releasing information. The specific tasks depend on the facility's complexity and staffing needs.
\nWork Model
\nThis position is not remote nor is it an analytical type role.
\nThis position is 100% onsite at our Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco, Tx.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nMonitors and assigns medical record deficiencies to the appropriate provider for completion. Completes medical record suspension and monitors chart completion for coding.\nProcesses legal birth certificates according to State laws and hospital policy.\nRetrieves medical records from unit, prep, scan and index documents and perform quality control of documents with EHR.\nPerforms release of information to ensure compliance with policy and State Federal requirements.\nResearch, troubleshoot, and resolve documentation issues on accounts.\nPerform Proxy processing to ensure compliance with BSW policy and State and Federal requirements.\nAssist physicians with completing legal death certificates according to State laws and hospital policy.\nCross trained and provide backup coverage for all job functions of HIM Technician.\n\nKey Success Factors

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent\nEXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience\n\nPreferably in a healthcare setting\nMedical Records experience a plus\nKnowledge of Newborn Birth Certificate process a plus\n\nAn additional background check is required for Texas Health & Human Services in addition to the BSWH onboarding background check\n\n\n\n\n
