Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Maintains medical record integrity and supports patient care and the billing process by filing, retrieving and releasing confidential information in compliance with California Hospital Association guidelines, CHW guidelines, state and federal laws. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

One-year experience in a clerical position requiredHigh school graduate or GED.Computer experience and be comfortable learning new programsKnowledge of alphabetic and terminal digit filing systemsAbility to effectively communicate and coordinate with other department employees of all levels, written and verbalAbility to effectively communicate with upset patients and demanding physicians in a professional mannerCapable of making independent decisions within the scope of assigned responsibilityAble to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with frequent interruptionsGood telephone skills, including patience and professionalismWillingness to embrace change
