Description A busy and thriving medical practice in Fairfield, Connecticut, is seeking an organized and personable Medical Receptionist to join their team. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring an exceptional experience from the moment they step through the door. Key Responsibilities: + Front Desk & Patient Interaction: + Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment. + Check in and check out patients, verifying insurance information and collecting payments as needed. + Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar efficiently. + Administrative Support: + Answer phone calls, redirect inquiries, and respond to patient requests in a timely manner. + Handle correspondence, including emails, faxes, and physician referrals. + Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times. + Records & Documentation: + Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems to input patient data accurately. + Prepare and organize charts for upcoming appointments. + Assist with claims processing and follow-ups in collaboration with billing staff. + Office Management: + Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies. + Monitor office supplies and place orders when inventory runs low. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Required: + Education: + High school diploma or equivalent is required; a certificate or associate degree in medical administration or a related field is a plus. + Experience: + Previous experience as a medical receptionist, office administrator, or related role (1–2 years preferred). + Familiarity with working in a medical practice or healthcare setting is a plus. + Technical Skills: + Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Cerner or Epic. + Competency in Microsoft Office Suite tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). + Interpersonal Skills: + Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional demeanor. + Ability to handle sensitive patient concerns with empathy and discretion. + Organizational Skills: + Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail for managing appointments and patient records efficiently.
