SUMMARY:
The position supports the delivery of safe and effective radiation therapy by performing technical and clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed medical physicist and a certified dosimetrist. Responsibilities include assisting with quality assurance testing of treatment delivery and imaging systems, collecting data for patient-specific QA, and supporting equipment commissioning and validation activities. The role also contributes to dosimetry workflows by preparing imaging data, assisting with treatment planning setup, and supporting plan verification and documentation. Additional duties include maintaining QA equipment, organizing records, and helping implement new technologies and protocols. This position ensures regulatory compliance, improves clinical workflow efficiency, and allows credentialed staff to focus on complex treatment planning and oversight activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Assurance & Equipment Testing: Perform routine QA checks on imaging and treatment systems under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP); assist with special measurements, annual beam scanning, and maintain calibration and inventory of QA equipment.
Patient-Specific QA Support: Collect and submit patient-specific QA data, including phantom and in-vivo measurements, for physicist review and interpretation.
Dosimetry & Treatment Planning Assistance: Import imaging data, assist with basic contouring and plan setup, and support treatment plan generation under the guidance of dosimetrists or physicists.
Commissioning & Implementation Support: Help gather and organize commissioning data for new technologies and support validation of equipment and planning algorithms following QMP protocols.
Process Improvement & Documentation: Maintain accurate QA records and protocols, update documentation systems, and contribute to training materials and workflow optimization initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors, Master’s or Doctoral degree in a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in a clinical radiation oncology or medical physics setting, including:
o Hands-on familiarity with treatment planning systems (e.g., Eclipse) and oncology information systems (e.g., ARIA, Mosaiq)
o Experience assisting with dosimetric calculations, contouring, and treatment plan verification under the supervision of licensed staff
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills

14625The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
