Job Title: Medical Payment Poster
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Payment Poster to process billing statements and accept payments accurately and on time. This role involves tracking and reconciling patient and insurance payments, preparing payment batches, and performing regular audits to ensure billing accuracy. You will review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance providers, maintain up-to-date billing records, and collaborate with the Billing Relations Manager to develop financial reports. The position requires documenting payment denials and ensuring all deposits are posted by the end of each month.

ResponsibilitiesProcess billing statements and accept payments accurately and on time.Track and reconcile patient and insurance payments, ensuring all deposits are properly recorded.Prepare payment batches and perform regular audits to ensure billing accuracy throughout each cycle.Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance providers.Maintain up-to-date and accurate billing records, and report any discrepancies to the accounting team.Collaborate with the assigned Billing Relations Manager to develop and review financial reports.Confirm that all EFT deposits and scanned checks are posted by the end of each month.Document and communicate payment denials clearly in the practice management system and notify the appropriate billing specialist promptly.Work collaboratively across multiple Central Billing Office (CBO) teams, maintaining professionalism and clear communication to support timely revenue processing.Stay current on medical billing practices, coding standards, payer procedures, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.Sort and manage internal correspondence related to appeals, denials, and medical records.Use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, ModMed (EHR system) and TriZetto (RCM system) on a daily basis.Essential SkillsExperience in medical billing, insurance, and data entry.Proficiency in accounts receivable and reconciliation.Background in medical practices, surgical centers, or hospitals.Ability to navigate various insurance payor websites.Familiarity with medical terms, CPT codes, modifiers, and diagnosis codes.Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Experience with EHR systems and practice management software.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Hands-on experience handling insurance collections and claim follow-ups.Orthopaedics or physical therapy background would be advantageous.Excellent people skills—able to build relationships and collaborate across teams.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Professional demeanor and communication.Work Environment

This position is on-site in Bethesda, working within a team of about 10 people. For the first 90 days, the role requires working five days on-site, after which hybrid flexibility may be considered by the manager. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $47840.00/yr.
