Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for CPG Surgery in Johnstown, PA. The MOA is responsible toperforms a variety of clinical/secretarial and general office duties to support department operations. Under the direction of the Practice Manager, functions in implementing the established plan of care. Provides care specific to all ages and developmental needs of all patients.

*Essential Responsibilities:*
Answer phones in courteous and appropriate manner in accordance with hospital policy.
Maintain competency in electronic medical record including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, registration, collection of copays and end of day process.
Monitor physician schedules in electronic medical record, monitor for appropriate scheduling, cancellations, etc.
Assist in completing patient forms including FMLA, insurance forms, and submitting forms to physicians to review and sign. Responsible for sending out forms either by mail or fax and responsible for collecting fee for form completion.
Scan paperwork that needs placed in the patients EMR including outside labs, testing, forms.
Complete all office tasks each day before close of business.
Assist with incoming mail and sorting mail to appropriate staff. Same for incoming faxes.
Assist in obtaining release of medical record form if outside records are needed. Responsible for scanning outside records into electronic medical record.
Responsible for obtaining ABN information for appropriate billing.
Assist with other front office staff as needed.
Assists medical staff in carrying out plans for care of patients.
Assists with speculum/anoscope exams and cultures, wound vac, removal of drains and foleys, ostomies, minor surgical procedures, other invasive office procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of sterility during procedures.
Coordinates and orients new nursing personnel regarding office set-up requirements, associated activities, and procedures.
Coordinates patient care activities with the hospital.
Transcribes lab and other medical data to charts.
Competently documents visits and notes in EPIC.
Completes inventory and orders medical supplies.
Travels to other offices, as needed.
Participates in office Quality Improvement initiatives.
*Job Qualifications:*
*Education:*
Required: Nurse Aide Training/ Medical Technician Training or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Graduate of Approve Medical Assistant Program or Certified Nurse Assistant.
*Experience:*
Required: Experience working in the medical field in a Physician’s office, clinic, comparable related medical setting.
Preferred: At least 3 years’ experience in a medical office setting.
*Certification/Licensure/Registration:*
Required:Graduate of an approved Medical Office Assistant Program or CNA program or appropriate on the job training in a medical office setting.
Preferred: CPR or BLS.
