Job Description
The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for managing various administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and rooming patients. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
ResponsibilitiesAnswering phones and providing excellent customer service.Scheduling and managing appointments for patients.Obtaining prior authorizations and handling insurance-related tasks.Rooming patients and ensuring patient information is accurately recorded.Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with office policy.Essential SkillsExcellent communication skills.Familiarity with medications and medical terminology.Experience in internal medicine, clerical work, and insurance procedures.Proficiency in data entry and managing patient information.Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferably EPIC.Additional Skills & QualificationsCMA/RMA certification is helpful.MA Diploma is required.Work Environment
The position is based in an internal medicine office operating from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm. The office maintains a professional dress code, and the role involves interacting with a high Medicare population.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
